It is possible that you have "zombie ports" remaining, after the installs and
uninstalls. Zombie ports are hidden, they don't work, and they block the
installation of new virtual ports. Find them and delete them:
Start
Run
Type cmd.exe in the textbox and click OK
Type set devmgr_show_nonpres
