2007-11-10 Thread Steve Kallal
I've followed this thread. But I don't have any of the symptons mentioned here. I mainly been using it on CW and haven't noticed any break-in issues. I've don't have any PTT problems either. I am using SVN 1737 with the latest firmware 0.1.1.3. Hope I don't start to experience the bug you guys

[Flexradio] 512 buffers @ 96 kHz on 5000A

2007-11-10 Thread Steve Kallal
I've have tried to achieve 512 buffers at 96 kHz. I'm not using 192 kHz because I want a sharper CW rx filter shape. 192 kHz would be OK for SSB, but on CW the display is too compressed. I can do 512 buffers at 96 kHz, but it gets unstable. CW break-in can crash the system. The 5000A gets stuck

[Flexradio] TX1-3 cirucit

2007-11-08 Thread Steve Kallal
The latest FLEXX-5000A docs has a relay circuit added. That brings up a question. Under what circumstances should I use a protection device on these outputs? I had a pin go out on the SDR-1000, so I am hestitant to hook up a device directly again. What type of relay is used in the circuit added

[Flexradio] SIIG CyberPro Firewire card...

2007-11-06 Thread Steve Kallal
I finally opened up my PC and found that I have a SIIG CyberPro 3 port Firewire installed. I've looked on the Internet to find the chipset. It seems that CyberPro applies to a lot of SIIG cards, and not all are Firewire. The chip on the board has a SIIG CyberPro sticker on it. I replaced it with

[Flexradio] How do I determine my Firewire chipset?

2007-11-02 Thread Steve Kallal
I bought a Firewire card last year, when I got the SDR-1000. I don't remember the brand and haven't opened the case to see any printing on the card. Other than looking at the card itself, is there a way to determine the chipset from a utility in Windows XP? I am running the 5000A now, and wonder

I bought the Micro Innovations Firewire card several months ago, went I bought the FA-66. I haven't installed it yet, but noticed it is confirmed to work with the SDR-1000 and FLEX-5000A, but on Windows XP only. A check of the Micro Innovations web site shows that it has the VIA chipset (from the

[Flexradio] Large out of band tx spurs on 5000A

2007-11-02 Thread Steve Kallal
I've noticed my 5000A had difficultly getting a low SWR on 80 meters with a manual antenna tuner. Yet I could get a low SWR with two other rigs. That made me think that some other frequencies were being transmitted. I turned on my 756PRO2 with its spectrum scope and sure enough I have a very

[Flexradio] Problems with bug connected to rear key jack on 5000A...

I am having problems with a bug (actually two bugs), when connected to the rear key jack on the 5000A. The symptoms are hard to explain. The code often doesn't match what my bug is sending. Often morse elements are skipped or lengthened. I don't have the problem using my COM1 serial port. These

I have an MFJ-1026 that I am fond of, but haven't used lately. I wonder if anyone has tried to use it with the RX1 loop feature of the 5000A. I think it would be kind of neat to try the 1026 while bypassing the tx coax cable. I'd like to use the T/R switching line on the 1026, although tx RF

[Flexradio] COM port key input w/ 5K?
