Is there a way to have two programs, such as CW Type and N1MM, key the
transmitter for CW?
I have a friend that wants to do just that, and I cannot find a way without
adding some hardware to the system.

Hi Tony
I agree. I am aware of the excellent cw that can be had with an external
keyer. However the intent was to have an all in 1 cw box without a bunch of
stuff tethered to it other than antenna and paddle. Still not there yet but
as I mentioned it is now usable with the paddle which it was

Mark, if you just want to be able to send good CW at typical qso speeds, I
highly recommend the Picokeyer:

Mark,
What computer you are using and how much memory does it have?
Your problems seems to relate to lack of memory

Still dealing with the cw latency issue here. After installing the latest
version of Power SDR I did notice an improvement which allowed me to bump
up the keyer speed when using an external paddle. Still not where I would
like it but an improvement none the less.

I've just run into a problem with CW keying of my Flex 5k. Been using it on
CW for the past year with CWTYPE as the keyer, and VSPManager. I've
previously tested it at speeds of 45 WPM and it never dropped a dit. Now,
all of sudden it seems, its dropping the first dit (or chopping the first

All,
I was having some tremendous problems with timing this weekend, using
an external keyer and FireBox with the 1K. I then changed sampling
to 48000 s/s from 96000 s/s and backed off the latency time from 2 ms
to 4 or 8. I was not trying to get anything close to full QSK, so I
was using a
Might depend on how your keying your radio. See bug 1141, 1142.

CW keying works as it always did with my external WinKeyUSB keyer. I am
on COM3 of my PC and the rig keys reliably in all SVN distributions
including totay 1420.

Hi, I seem to have lost CW keying. It was there in SVN 1414, but
none in SVN 1416 or 1418. I thought it might be hardware, but it is
ok in v1.8 and v1.9.

The CWX utility keys the radio like a common morse key, not dot and
dash side, just an on/off key. When you use the paddles you must use
the built in iambic keyer. If you have to reverse the paddles and
don't want to do that reverse the dot and dash wiring on your paddles.

I have 2 SDR-1000's. One is my primary CW radio and one I use for SSB rag chew

the other rig with the jack on the back. Up to 40 wpm I can tell virtually no

Hello, fellas.
New user here, and I'm interested in setting my Flex up for CW keying.
The manual suggest connecting the key to a serial port for lowest latency,
which I'm looking for, of course,
Can someone please instruct me how to interface my paddle or keyer to the
serial port? I have USB

I am having trouble getting either the CAT and/or a separate com port to

Hi,
I am trying to get N1MM Logger set up for CW. I tried two different
setups. One with com1&2 as cat (N1MM always set using the odd port
and SDR set up u[sing the even port), com 5&6 as PTT, Com 7&8 as CW
keying. Frequently the dots or dashes are truncated. For example,

OK Gang, I have found the problem.
It seems that I had imported the DB file
from 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 which was the last “good” version I had
running. To test a theory that the DB may be at fault, I deleted the imported
DB in the 1.4.5 P4 folder and let the software rebuild it for me. When I
ed my truncated first character and other character timing
issues. Let us know if that helps! 73
