Jim,
Yes, I have used audio repeater to do exactly what he is wanting. However,
there is SIGNIFICANT latency in audio repeater.

You will probably get as many opinions on this as when asking what is the
best radio, antenna, or mic. In general, if you just research what is best
for computers, the consensus is most likely to be turn the computer off. In
particular if you have its power saving features set to max
In the old days, the reason for leaving the power on was to eliminate the
initial current surge through the cold vacuum tube filaments. This current
was higher than during normal operation until the filament resistance went

I suspect all that will go away if you upgrade to 2.0.16.
Sometimes an aggressive sound card driver in your computer system
will try to take over the 1500, because it looks like a soundcard. That is
no longer true in 2.0.16 and anything after.

Everybody should be conserving energy. Leaving your computer on wastes money
you could be spending on more radio gear. The computers in my house have
been measured from 150 to 280 watts (from the wall) while idle, versus under
5 watts when in S3 sleep. You do the math.

Tim,
Thanks for the quick response and info on WBIR (wide band image rejection).
It is noted. True, I was just syncing the two receivers and not using true
diversity reception with two antennas. The configuration I gave in my
example was just a simple way to demonstrate the discrepancy. It
