this posting if this capability is already present,
I've no time to try even the real weather fecth by myself.
Just my five cents.

Mike Krizansky:
I also think that Linux IS the right development platform, but as you
stated, if you feel more confortable with Windows, may be you can
consider the Eclipse + CDT plug-in (as IDE) and MinGW (as compiler)
combination. Both tools are free.
Indeed, and my last option, would be to
the logging capabilities of wxWidgets, but I think
Log4cxx has a strong backend (ASF), good documentation and
implementation and has very spread used.

For the ATC talk, could be possible to considering the use of
Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology?
This tool could provide FG with the ability to speech (talk) whenever
message the tower controller desires to comunicate to the planes, simply
reading aloud predefined sentences from a text file,
using FG as a simulation
engine to test their recorders
If you think the proposal is acceptable, I´ll start to work on it. Any
project leader/developer who I have to report to?
Thanks in advance for your attention.

This sounds interesting and useful. Feel free to email me about it
offline, but it sounds like you just need to add a protocal module in
$fgfs/src/Network/ (this is maybe growing into a slight misnomer, but
that is where you'd want to put it.)
Curt.
OK. I think I have to add igc.cxx and igc.hxx
cents...

think that in the future we can build a library or repository of saved
flights for testing purposes of any kind?
Thank you very much for your attention.

I'm trying to add import/export of IGC file formats capability (within the
Network folder, as nmea, garmin, atlas, etc.)
This is a great idea !
Thank you.
Therefore we have simulators :-)
you're completely right
For real life IGC files you might want to ask the people at KFlog,
or by network
Please take a look at file README.IO under the source/docs-mini folder.
You'll get a complete description of paramters and examples to start
FlightGear that way.
Hope that helps!

I hope not to be late with my suggestions for the upcoming FG newsletter.

Higher, Faster, Farther. But Simulated.
I think this reflects what FG is all about: aviation and simulation
