Hey Guys,
Can anyone start us down the path of how to create a new helicopter model /
type? We are coming from the X-Plane world where creating new aircraft was
done using tools provided by the developer and made the process somewhat
straight forward.
Recommendations?

Hi,
Lauri Peltonen and I have been working on a reflection effect:

This uses a generic fair-weather environment map, currently 6 images. We are
working on using a cube-cross,
Wow -- looks amazing! I wonder what that would do to my framerate
with my laptop's poor little ATI HD 3200 card?
All the best,

Hi Maik,
thank you for offering help in translating your chapter about the
Helicopters. But I am a little confused: I just compared the
getstart.pdf chapter A Helicopter Tutorial with the wiki Flying the
Helicopter - and on first sight they look exactly the same. What I do
not understand: There is

Hi all!
Thanks very much for updating last time, I really appreciate that. Now
could someone please update the B-1B to the more recent version:

News/updates: Major update
- terrain following script rewritten
- guided ordonance system
As a service to those who'd like to dedicate their time for comparing
v8.10 and v8.50 layouts (I don't know if anyone's interested at all), I
have now added both to the web map. This is a v8.10 sample:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. loading FG with any plane at KSFO or Moffet
2. after plane loading switch to outside view and look around
3. FG crashes after a couple of seconds without any log entry and freeze
with a black screen. cpu load 100%. terragear seems to still work.

I'm playing with an MP map, and have bumped into some issues with
callsign's containing strange characters (can mess with json encoding).
Should the callsign not be restricted to the characters - and 0-9,
a-z, A-Z ?

I am experimenting with the bumpspec shader, and I have a little problem.
The effect looks great when the object is between the eyepoint and the
sun : http://imagebin.org/90814
but it looks reverted when the eye is between the sun and the object :

I'd suggest the MPMap should be fixed so that user data doesn't create
an issue for it, I can't see why arbitrary
I have been inverting the red and green channels in gimp, now it looks
correct in any angle in FG.
Either I should see in blender if there is a way to directly bake it
like the FG shader expects it, or maybe the shader has a problem, and
the red and green channels should work in the other way.

Hi Curt,
To provide an even greater user experience, what if we link entries in
the Aircraft download page to each aircraft page on wiki.flightgear.org ?
For example, by clicking on the 737-400 image or Boeing 737-400 text,
the browser would open:
