I knew Rosenbauer for a long time as _the_ manufacturer of specialized
fire-fighter vehicles par excellence. Sure, I didn't expect them to be
the only ones in this field but I'm now very surprised to see that the
top-notch vehicles of both companies resemble that much not only in
their exterior shape and look but also in the layout of the respective
equipment, they even use the same gear box,

Ah, not so quick.  Despite the Bush administration efforts to cut 
essential services in favor of spending money on the War(s),  we
