You just need to extract the .zip file into the Aircraft
it isn't a zip file not that I can tell of
tagz or tagr file these are the files from the aircraft download page at

Sorry for mislabeling the files. But .tgz files can be thought of as
similar to .zip files (just a slightly different structure) and most
unzippers can handle .tgz files just fine. Just extract the .tgz file
into the Aircraft folder
I take it winzip with winXP will not unzip these that would explain my
problem

I'd be amazed if it didn't - but I and others suggested several freely
available programs that will if it doesn't.

For unpacking these files on Windows use either WinRar or better yet,
try IZArc from www.izarc.org . Both are free.

is it the flightgear wizard
When you say you added them to the Aircraft directory, did you uncompress
the .tgz files there? You should have a subdirectory for each aircraft.
when I downloaded them I was given the option to save or cancel I saved
them to the aircraft files in flight gear. they are not shown to be zipped
I believe they are already unzipped. by winzip. but they are not showing up on
the aircraft selection in the game.
