Re: FLUXLIST: minidiscos....

2000-04-07 Thread Heiko Recktenwald

I dont own a MiniDisk although they are popular here too, not to popular,
but there are people who own them. Miniradiostations, students radio, uses
them. Other people, musicians, prefer DAT, which is or has been much more
popular, at least I knew much more people who own DAT than MiniDisk. One
advantage of MiniDisk is that its like a harddrive, easy cutting. Maybe a
big enough harddrive would do it too, but for the everyday use. Recording
from the radio etc. Somebody once said:

are the rabbit's nose! I play mostly improvised electronics (theremin and modular
synthesizer) and bass guitar (various styles). I'd love to trade discs with other
 composers/improvisers...

You did construct your theremin by yourself ? Could you describe this
machine ?

Well, if you can make copies onto cassette, still more popular:

I accidently deleted once Daniel Cohn Bendit in Paris. How he did "hostis"
 calls. A pity.

How to say it in english ? Those "hostis declarations", "bellum justum"
against De Gaulle, who fled the country...

A collection of "hostis declarations", like "Haider is a pig."

FLUXLIST: Fluxlist Flux Box

2000-04-07 Thread Owen Smith

For all you long suffering Fluxbox participants - the
boxes will be mailed out the beginning of next week!!

If the CD (which is what has been holding up the whole
process for the last two months) is not done, it will be
sent along later rather than my continuing to hold up
the whole process - the boxes themselves have been done
and assembled since the first of the year!!!

Owen, I'm very interested in getting a copy of your essay 'Fluxus,

Visual,
Concrete. Have any clues how I could get a copy?

Reed - The book is still in print (I think - I saw it still listed in
the publishers catalog), but since it is a European publication it is a
bit costly (60 or 80. USD). Any book source that deal with foreign (to
the US) sellers should be able to order the book

I think I still have a few offprints of my article and I can send you
one - and if I am out of offprints, I can certainly send you or anyone
else interested a xerox copy of the essay as long as they contact me
with a mailing address.

Yes, great, thanks. Please send me a photocopy of it. I'd appreciate it:

I have really been spending too much money on books lately and $60-80
sounds like too much to me right now, although I realize it is probably a
very interesting book.

FLUXLIST: what the fluxbunnies are up to

2000-04-07 Thread m. mcdonough

dear fluxbunnies,

i'm in a constant state of trying to catch up with all the fluxmessages that
grace my inbox. but i wanted to respond to someones post about what we've
all been up to with our own art. i'm a college student, new to the ideas of
fluxus, fluxlist and mail art. a month or so ago, i was asked to do
something to gain noteriety for an art class. so i hired a publicist. the
first effort of our ad campaign is in the form of posters. and the
reactions have been very interesting. there are 5 posters in the series,
all with a picture of me, my name, and a short slogan. let me demonstrate
in text:
MEGAN One Bad Ass Bitch
MEGAN She's Addicted to Coffee
MEGAN She Can Tell Your Fortune with MMs
MEGAN This is her Gangsta Rap Statement
MEGAN Cuter than your Girlfriend

So since i've playing with the idea of fame with out talent, and having a
lot of fun i wanted to open up this possiblity to others. enter mail art
project. Here's a copy of the call i've been sending out:
ADVERTISE YOURSELF!
Gain Noteriety! What's your slogan? What do you want to be remembered for?
Exploit yourself. I'm looking for self advertisements. Any size, any
format. Specific mode of documentation undetermined at this time. Random
return. Deadline September 1st. For more information and current address
after May 14th e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SEND ART BEFORE MAY 14TH TO:
Megan McDonough OCMR 2036
135 W Lorain St.
Oberlin, OH 44074 USA

I would be delighted if any of you fun fluxbunnies would like to
participate. if you would like a snail mail invitation postcard with a copy
of one of my posters, drop me a line in the ol' e-mailbox.

I am not technologically advanced in many ways, but i would like to put up a
webpage to continue my quest for fame. can any of you recomend a simple and
free place to host a webpage? i would just like to be able to direct people
to more information about me. take this one step futher...

love and mangoes,
megan
