A Fluxarchy!!! One part of Fluxus belongs to history, but another part still thrives today. Maybe we can think of Fluxus as being like a monarchy. Monarchs come and go. Kings and Queens are crowned and die. But the monarchy lives on. Fluxus is dead. Long live Fluxus! Re: FLUXLIST: Re: On the disagreement
It baffles me.. why one would feel that they need/want/deserve/feel in-titled to the fluxus label on their work or selves. David Why in the heck not put the label of Fluxus on your work if you want to. By saying that it's this or that limits it. The whole point is that it's free (at least for me). We've got enough art police on the art history channel. I do a lot of work that isn't historically accurate fluxus but it still is Fluxus to me-because I feel that it is in my heart. That makes it Fluxus! Fluxus is not a thing you can point to-which is why I resist in calling it an art movement. It may mean something else to Allison Knowles or Ken Friedman but they're not here right now are they? I am here right now and Fluxus is what I say it is here right nowand I say its Weetabix...so there.. Madawg __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Re: FLUXLIST: more fluxus history
this is an excerpt from an article of an historical account of the gentile Victorian ladies that use to inhabit Pacific Grove, California. Pacific Grove bills itself as the Last Hometown because it was the last dry town on the west coast (until 1969) Monterey Herald Feb.13,2006: Mrs. Swann lived up 18th above Laurel, brown shingles, a ratty palm tree in the front yard, and a jungle of split leaf philodendron in the entry hall. The place was always stuffy hot, gas heater hissing in the corner, horehound in the cut glass candy dish on the doily covered table, and a cat, of course, sleeping on a love seat near the window. I would have forgotten all this except for the icon on the fireplace mantle. A clear glass bottle about six inches tall, formaldehyde, and her dead mother's ring finger, complete with wedding ring. It was tied with a small bow at the base, and a pale fingernail at the top. No flowers to soften the image, no picture of the departed, just an otherwise bare mantle with Mama's digit... __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! This IS fluxus news --- suse [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: She didn't know for many years then she found some fluxus in her basement left there either by the Mix it up chappie or bibiana padilla maltos, which then caused her, me, to contact this confounding list in the first place.(And seemed to coincide with a bukoff to become fed up and the secret fluxus to become even more secretive, among other developments...) In the second place fluxus was omitted from the feature, as were many other topics of conversation, probably due to convolutedness and other translation hurdles.
