Re: Plass' thesis: "Optimal Pagination Techniques..."
Ok, I've just purchased it. Anyway, I had to find something to do with all the money Google will give to me... Thanks, Vincent Jeremias Maerki a écrit : Vincent, the thesis is cheap at 35$. I paid 61$ for a paper copy last year. And ISO standards cost more than three times that for the same number of pages. That said, I think these 35$ are well-spent. Maybe there are student reductions? I couldn't do much with the thesis. I just didn't understand most of it. Too abstract and mathematically oriented for me. But that's probably because I dropped off University after the first semester. :-) Anyway, the thesis seems to contain a lot about before-floats. Actually, IMO, the thesis title is too generic for what's inside. I think you could get quite a bit out of it for your project. By looking at the 24 Page Preview available on the site it seems that this works may help me to have a better understanding of the issue, and solves some of the problems I raised on the Wiki. I would like to have the confirmation by those (namely Jeremias) who have bought this book if it is worth its price (35$ for an image-only pdf file... a bit expensive, IMO). So? Plass' thesis: "Optimal Pagination Techniques..."
Hi all, A bit more than one year ago Plass' thesis was cited on this list [1]. By looking at the 24 Page Preview available on the site it seems that this works may help me to have a better understanding of the issue, and solves some of the problems I raised on the Wiki.
