Same here, FOP served us very well in the past and there is no reason to switch…

We'd need it in a short time, let's say in the next two weeks and of
course we'd pay for that implementation.

Let me second that, if someone steps up to implement that I am sure we can throw
money into the bowl too.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for your interest in FOP. Support for fo:retrieve-table-marker is
something that I also need, unfortunately I personally am too busy ATM
to work on an implementation. If nobody else beats me to it, I might
have a chance to work on it later in the year, although nothing is
guaranteed.

At any rate, I don’t think the work is doable in two weeks. Like
everything that touches the layout engine this is quite tricky. Also,
I studied the topic some time ago and found that the layout engine has
design issues that would greatly constrain what you can do with table
markers. Basically that would work only if the presence of the retrieved
content dos not affect the height of the table-header/footer.
Fortunately your use case would fall within that limit, IIC.

 Hi all,

I'm using FOP for a project and I need to implement subtotals and

fully implemented. A workaround with fo:retrieve.marker has a lot of
 disadvantages and is not sufficient.

One solution would be to buy a commercial product like www.xmlpdf.com,
which supports fo:retrieve-table-marker. But I'd prefer continuing to
 use FOP.

Is there anyone, who has the knowledge to implement the
 fo:retrieve-table-marker feature?

Hi Vincent,

thank you for your answer.
I think it might be good for FOP to support this feature, even if it is
later in this year.
If you want to implement some business documents, table-markers are really
necessary.
I contacted Andreas Delmelle before and he told me that he could help out
with some design ideas, but he is also not available to implement this
feature.

We probably need this feature in the next weeks, since we will go live and
as far as I see, our invoices need the feature.
But anyway, I have to discuss that with my colleagues.
I'll keep you posted.

Again, thanks again for your answer.

Best Regards,
Thomas
