The dependency on JAXP remains, of course. It's about removing the JAR. As long as we don't want to use features from newer JAXP versions (XPath, for example), yes. However, considering the ancient Xerces/Xalan versions found in Sun JVMs, I'm hesitant to remove those. I'm thinking about moving the
