Hey, guys, it's only a two hour job to add support for setting an
EntityResolver and a URIResolver in FOP's command-line. Today, even FOP
itself can use the Commons Resolver to resolve image URIs.

No doubt. But 0.90alpha1 will be getting better. Very few if any

I reckon Joerg is a bit of an expert at 0.20.5 ;)

Dave that's exactly what my issue is, you hit the nail right on the head. I'm
having trouble with the memory issues not only in FOP 20.5.1 but in XEP and
0.9alpha as well. It was suggested, and it seems to have worked out well,
that I use multiple page sequences to fix the problem. While I feel

I understand my stylesheet snippets are amature because that's just what I was

suggestions for improvement but understand that I am most interested in
fixing the pressing memory problem at hand. See my answer to Dave
I have successfully installed and run FoP 0.20.5 on systems which already
had an installed OS and Apache 2.X. FoP runs fine with the Apache HTTP
server turned off. Before going through a clean install or removal of Apache
HTTP server, I was wondering if there were any shared library or other
No, FOP doesn't need Apache HTTP Server to run. FOP is a Java program,
while the HTTP Server is in C (or C++) anyway.
FOP needs just a Java Runtime Environment and the JARs kept in the FOP
lib directory that comes with its download.

Whoops, I hope I didn't give the impression that I was mocking your
current level of understanding XSLT... Besides
Im trying to use FOP as report engine. But I have to
provide excel format for the report.
I didnt find any information showing that FOP
provides Excel output or anyway that could be used for this purpose.
Thanks for any help, in advance.
Farid
FOP currently has no capabilities to output/render Excel files. It isn't currently planned. You might be able to find something on the internet.
