I am wondering, what is the best way to generate huge PDF files using FOP.
Have you read the tips on the website:

Hi,
What is the status on "We are planning to add an additional feedback
facility to FOP which can be used to obtain all sorts of specific feedback
(validation messages, layout problems etc.)!"?
I need per generation process logging...if the above has not been

The status is the same as when I wrote that text. At some point this
will be done but at this time it's only on my wish list. My notes on the

Yes I did Chris! Truth is I am not even getting in to any such complex
processing. My pdf, atleast for now, is very simple. I was giving a trial
and error on the data size FOP can handle, but for sure, if things are good,
I will start looking in to little bit more complex processing.
Thanks for y

Right, but should you indeed have a relatively small FO file that eats
up all the memory it can find, please state the FOP version you're using
and post the FO file so we can reproduce.

I can personally vouch for 1 & 2. We have two different PDF outputs - one
with forward refs and a single page seq and one with no forward refs and
multiple page seqs and we see a memory difference of upwards of 60%.

Hello,
I was using Fop 0.20.5 to generate PS files to send to a printer. Under this
Fop Version, it was running well.
Since I upgraded to Fop 0.92, the printer does not print anything.
I tried to generate the same PS file from the same XML and XSL files. The
one generated with FOP 0.20.5 is wel
It displays in GhostScript but doesn't print on your printer? What
printer is that? Have you tried another printer?
The log output from GhostView is well in the green. The passage you
quoted simply indicates that GhostScript replaced Helvetica with its own
Nimbus font. That's to be expected.

Memory usage chart ( PDF Size vs RAM ) - update
I figured out my style sheet was not handling the page sequences properly.
Looks good now with 0.92beta version.
