Thanks Eric, but that doesn't seem to help. I even tried putting the zero-width space in an inline with a line-height with the hopes that that would make the renderer recognize the height of the line when it was superscripting, but no dice. I've even thought about using inline SVGs, but still these would still have to be given a vertical-align=super in order to place them above the normal text - and I don't think vertical-align is even supported in instream-foreign-object in 0.20.5. Any way I can use a negative margin-top or something without placing the text in a block (which would cause unwanted carriage returns I guess)?
