Unfortunately puppetserver 2.6 did bring one incompatible change. To fix
this, add in
/usr/share/foreman-installer/modules/puppet/templates/server/puppetserver/conf.d/web-routes.conf.erb
the following block: https://git.io/viRSs and re-run foreman-installer
with "--puppet-server-puppetserver-version=2.6.0" added.

To minimize impact, I'd first update the existing Puppet environment to
Puppet 4, as outlined in
http://projects.theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/Upgrading_from_Puppet_3_to_4

So you "only" have 2 migrations in a row instead of one change containing
two big migrations.

OpenSCAP didn't get packaged for Debian based distros, as AFAICT it's not
usable anyway on non-RH based distros.

Long story short: it's not possible with the 1.13 installer, see
https://github.com/theforeman/puppet-puppet/pull/361 for the whole
story. It will be possible with the 1.14 installer by setting the
parameters needed by puppetlabs-puppetdb in a new hiera yaml.

Foreman and its components are working fine on Debian/stretch, we do
have nightly builds and are waiting for PuppetLabs' packages ourselves,
as these are needed for a potential 1.16 release.

Puppetserver is supported since Foreman 1.12 and 1.16 will also fully
support Puppetserver 5 (nightlies already do).

As it turns out, foreman_docivery 9.1.0 is not compatible with Foreman
1.15.x as-is, we're working on a fix now that should be out tomorrow.

[foreman-users] Dropping Ubuntu/trusty builds for Foreman 1.16

2017-06-07 Thread Michael Moll
Hello,

following the discussion[1] about desupporting Ruby 2.0 for Foreman
core, Foreman nightly packages for Ubuntu/trusty are not being built
anymore since today and there will be no 1.16 release for Ubuntu/trusty.
This also affects Proxy and Installer packages.

1.15 packages will still receive updates, but it's strongly advised to
update to Ubuntu/xenial, which is supported since Foreman 1.12.

This Quickstart Docs are correct. Fedora 24 is last supported by 1.15
and as noboday did have time to put in the effort for updating the
packaging and build chain for Fedora 25 or 26 there are no packages. If
you would like to help there, please speak up. :)

Same is true for Debian. Stretch will be supported by 1.16.
