It turns out that this is an issue due to running out of space on my remote server. Once I cleared out some backups I didn't need and other useless large files or directories, everything went back to normal. It'd be a great feature to have the PsPad message tell me that there wasn't enough space

This is a strange issue. I'm not getting an actual error code for it, but it's definitely a bug in how the app runs. When I am connected to FTP (doesn't matter which server I connect to), if my internet is spotty or a little slow, or if there is any time wait to connect, it locks PSPad up

I'm getting login errors despite the fact I'm using accurate login info and successfully connect with other FTP clients. Anyone else ever have this issue? It seems to be happening only with one particular domain, but I cannot reproduce the problem in any other program, so I'm assuming it's pspad.

Having this same issue with Win 8.1 update. I turn off word-wrap, it's fine. @pspad, your trick to turn off highlighting solved the problem, but highlighting is one of the best features of your app!! haha. Would love to have this fixed, will help any way I can. --
