one thing that puzzles me every time I do fossil help is the
presence of question marks for oprtional parameters, as in
% fossil help commit
Usage: fossil commit ?OPTIONS? ?FILE...?
while I would expect it to be like
% fossil help commit
Usage: fossil commit [OPTIONS] [FILE...]
