That makes sense but I can envision a situation where someone is removing tags from a commit and they accidently also remove the date property and now their timeline is no longer visable from the ui. It seems like removing the date property "accidently" via the ui is more destructive than a shun.

First can I say great software. To get familiar with fossil's ui I just created a dummy checkout and started poking around. I added a couple tags... removed them... added branches ... changed their names. I noticed that once a tag was removed from a check-in a new date property was displayed. I
