Hello Bob, Matt,
We know that FOSSology supports maximum file size that can be uploaded and
scanned is 700 MB.
But if a big chunk of zip file say around 6GB to 10Gb is uploaded to webserver
( say local apache webserver),
Can FOSSology take the URL of webserver with the big file and scan whole
Hi Venkata,
Thanks for the information.
I have one more query. I think following command sends the local file (
--post-file =../time-1.7.tar) to webserver, waits for file to be scanned and
gets .spdx results from the webserver.
Do we have an option where a big file is already uploaded to
Hello Venkata,
Thanks for quick response.
I understand we need to change $fileName to $FilePath at line 356.
I will change locally here and test.
Do you have any plans to change this line and release to SPDX module?
Does this change is complaint to Specification SPDX 1.2 or 2.0 version?

Hello Bob,
Where do I get license text for BSD-style and similar licenses.
I searched spdx.org, or opensourc.org, I could not find it.
Specifically I would like to see the license text for all the licenses listed
in 2.6.0

Hello,
I upgraded to 2.6.0-rc1 on Ubuntu 13.10 destro and scanned set of files, scan
is OK but LicenseBrowser link shows nothing.
This problem has not occurred in 2.5.0 ( I recently upgraded to 2.5.0 from
2.4.0).
I have put 2.6.0-rc1 in /etc/apt/sources.list, because 2.6.0 is not accessible
Hello Vincent,

Hello Bob,
We need SHA1 checksum for every file we upload. Do you have support for the
same.
I mean when I get license/copyright list thru command line, I should also get
SHA1 checksum for each of the file.

Hello Bob,
I am trying to use commands cp2foss, fossjobs to upload a zip file and scan.
I understand that cp2foss uploads files to fossology, and immediately starts to
unpack, scan for license and copyright information for a upload Id unless -q
is specified.
How do I track that scanning has
Hi Lary,
Yes cp2foss of FOSSology 2.6.1 has -s option. I run -s option on sample zip
file.
It works fine, it waits until scan is done, and then fo_nomos_license_list can
be run on upload Id.
Thanks for information.

Kotrappa.

Hello Lary,
I was in root login when I execute fossology commands, and I missed placing
.fossology.rc in /root.
Now it works without this patch.
One more issue is, if I am in some user login say /home/wipro and I execute
fossology commands, I get a message “ You must be in group “fossy””.
Why
Hi Duncan,
Can you try following command
fo_nomos_license_list --user fossy --password fossy -u XX
I think you should not put single quote around user id ,password.

Kotrappa

Hi Duncan,
I am not sure about error where user ,password is directly given in command.
Can you try following method.
Since you are running under 'fossy' group.
Create .fossology.rc in /home/fossy/
.fossology.rc should contain following
user=fossy
password=fossy
Then run the command as
14 matches
