And British manpower too. American manpower on the coasts is expensive. People in the middle of the country enjoy the same quality of life for roughly half the income. It's slightly higher in the big cities, but even Chicago is still much cheaper than, say, LA. The price of non-American manpower will depend in part on the exchange rate of the dollar with the respective currency. And right now, the dollar won't get you as much in Europe as it used to. A director, perhaps, is good to have in the Boston area. Richard, I also like to see you show up in the GNOME Advisory Board meetings and mailing list as FSF's representative. Does that require travel, or can it be done by phone? ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
Re: Let's bring the GNOME wagon to North Carolina!
Somewhat along the same line, I am currently out in Utah and have found an incredibly active and concentrated open source community, are there any Gnome Foundation members out this way who would be interested in social, or even code-related meetings? :) Cheers, Kevin Kubasik On Dec 3, 2007 8:49 PM, Ken VanDine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I can't do anything this month, but I would love to help out for > something after the new year. > > --Ken > > On Mon, 2007-12-03 at 19:40 -0500, Og Maciel wrote: > > Hey folks, > > > > I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me organize > > what could be the very first GNOME community event in North Carolina > > (the RTP to be more exact)?
