FM8 crashing upon showing all conditions.

Hello Everybody, I'm really at a loss here. I'm hoping someone can help. I have a file (actually a few), which when I try to show all conditions crashes the entire FM book. It also crashes when I open the file on its own and try to show all conditions. This usually happens with files that have

For those of you who recently reported FrameMaker 9 crashing at the Localization screen:, delete the following tree (you may need to enable hidden folders if you haven't already done so and also save elsewhere,for restoration, any files in the FrameMaker sub-directory that you have tailored):

Hi Ray, I would not delete the whole tree, just the Linguists folder. Here is the message I got from someone at Adobe: Hi Rick, It seems that the linguistic folder got corrupted. Pls. delete/rename %Appdata%\Adobe\Linguist folder and then launch FrameMaker. Regards, Megha Rick Quatro Carmen

I had that problem a few months ago. Check the directory where the files are kept. Delete all of the lock files. Before viewing all of the conditions, update your book. Delete any lock (*.lck) files, than view the conditions. That worked for me. Thank you,   Gillian Flato Technical Writer

I just watched this video -- thanks for the reference. I'll say a couple of things: 1) I like some of the new features, especially the Insets browser. This is good stuff. 2) It's also good that some of the previously modal dialogs are modeless. 3) I still maintain that the notion of working

If that works fine. When I had the problem several months ago I was desperate to find any solution that worked for me (Adobe Support having no idea at that time and it being made more difficult by having a corporate license where only the first person registered showed up as "supported"). Ray
