be set for each file individually already in FrameMaker 8. I had
used this to add the GroupTitlesIX paragraph format solely in
the index file to get the single characters as bookmarks (and

The warning is just pointing out that there's a difference between the book
settings the document - it can be ignored. If you set numbering by the book,
update it save the book, it should be sticking. If it's not, then there's
something else going on.

look like?
I'm guessing that it looks like Figure n, which specifies the literal
string you are seeing.
What it needs to look like is Figure $paranum or Figure $paranumonly.
