Hi Ken,
support for transparency is better with newer FM versions, I’m not sure how
FM10 yet supports PSD. Transparency should be supported when saving the PSD as
EPS in Photoshop.
In any case: be aware that transparency is NOT previewd on screen. Even not
with newer FM versions (I think only

If you are using JPEG format, these files do not have transparent backgrounds
... if so, use PNG format for the images.

Ken, I think what you probably need to do is to add a "clipping path." I
haven't used PSDs in FrameMaker-- I've always saved graphics as EPS--
but transparency was never honored for me without a clipping path.
