Running FM8 on Windows 7, you're on your own, but starting with the
most recent release is probably the best idea.

The most recent (7/15/2009) FM8 update is a ~650MB from-scratch
installer, not a patch update:

XP SP3 fix " at the top of the FrameMaker 8 patch
