A quick addendum:
When I specify the following settings from within FrameMaker...
- Print Document Print Separations Separations Setup
- Print as Process: Black
- Print as Spot: PMS032
- Don't Print: everything else
...Then print to separations, the resulting PDF is separated correctly.
