Hi Shanmugham...
I can try to point you in the right direction .. but this isn't a simple
task.
There are no DITA-specific FDK functions .. to FrameMaker, DITA files
are just like any other structured document. It sounds like you're
trying to replace the selected content (elements) with a conr

DITA File' out of the text that I'm selecting from a document that is opened
in FM. And have to give the 'Conref' to this new file from the main
document. Here are the steps that I would like to achieve with FDK
For reasons that are not clear to me it seems the prevailing thought
here is to not copy into document, instead importing by reference.
I always use the copy into document method. I never have any problems,

changes and I need to replace screenshots, I just overwrite the old
I import by reference because the user interface on our software tends to
change on a regular basis. It's much easier for me to replace the graphic
itself and let Framemaker update the three or four places in which I use the
same graphic. But, as was just mentioned in another thread, your mileage m

simply a "best with given parameters".
I think it's the same with a Help conversion tool.

Hi Randall,
I don't think there was anything in the olden days that stopped working on
later versions. I would suggest that you look at FrameScript as a way to
automate adding the required leading zeros. If you can spell out your exact
requirements, I can help you determine what is possible with F
