Hi all,
I'm an occasional users of ID and I've inherited a file with many different
unlinked text boxes (2 or 3) on each page. I want to get the text out of ID
and into something that others with basic office software can edit.
Is there any way to export this text into RTF - or even raw text? I c

Hi,
I'd like to find all cross-references to a given element identified by
its ID attribute, preferably across a book. I'd like to be able to see
them in the cross-references panel at the bottom screen but have
failed so far. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jakob.
Hi Jakob,
You could use FrameScript to do this. I would envision a script that would
go through the document or book (or folder of documents), and look for all
of the idref attributes (or whatever you use in your cross-references to
match your ID attributes). It would then right these to an Excel
You can also create an Index of Markers and choose the xref marker
format to get a full list of every xref, I believe by target. I don't
have FM handy at the moment to check.

Use the Find/Replace dialog to search for Marker Text and type in the
ID attribute. It should find them all. I'm not sure what you mean by
seeing them all in the xref panel at the bottom of the screen, though.
What are you trying to do, exactly? What is your need?

I don't believe you have that functionality in FM9, but it's a great idea...
Take 2 minutes & post it at adobe.com/go/wish to get the engineers thinking
about it for future releases...the more folks that post, the more likely
you'll see it in the next release.
