All, I am posting to this list hoping that someone from Adobe is reading this and will step up to the plate. I purchased a copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9 over 2 1/2 years ago. I purchased a disk from Adobe. The disk got packed in a recent move and is in storage and I cannot get to it. I have contacted Adobe for a replacement download link or disk. I have the valid license number and order number. Adobe is refusing. They say that they only thing that they can do is purchase an upgrade from them. Why should I have to purchase an upgrade if I have already purchased a copy? Adobe said that is was my fault because I purchased a disk and had I purchased a download link instead, that I could access that link from my account and all would be OK. So, Adobe gives you an option of purchasing a disk, but doesn't tell you that if you lose it or misplace it that you're screwed - that really you should use only the downlink link option? Certainly, I can't be the only one who has run into this issue before and I don't make this a habit. This is one misplaced disk in like 17 years of purchasing Adobe products. Here's the rub . . .they willingly give me a link to a site for downloading updates to Acrobat 9, but not a link to the initial installation? I am just so flippin' sick and tired of Adobe's nonchalance about customer service and how they absolutely loved telling me that I had to spend more money w/ them for them to help me. More Font Warnings
Hi Framers, After studious cleansing of my files to remove unwanted fonts, using the replace font feature to change anything unwanted to a specific known, installed, and wanted font, I still get unavailable font warnings when opening these files. Yet when I open the Fonts palette, only the fonts I chose appear in the list. If a font were only used in a character style, would it still appear on the Fonts palette list? Or does that list only present fonts used in paragraph styles? Thanks, Karen ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. Tammy, When I had a not-OK-upgrade-without-original-disks, I just kept having a tantrum on the phone. Eventually they decided to make my life easier and gave me a link. Tooltip text for hotspot doesn't show in PDF (FM 11, Windows 7)
I am posting this for a co-worker.In FrameMaker 11, I have set objects to be hotspots going to an external URL. When I generate a PDF, the hotspots work, but the tooltip text that I entered for each hotspot is not showing. Instead, when I hover over the hotspot, I see the URL. Is this a bug, or do I need to do something differently? Thanks for any and all help!Terri -- next part -- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... More Font Warnings
Hi Karen, The missing fonts could be located in several places, like "empty" text lines created from the Graphics Palette. If you are certain you have only the fonts you wish in your para and char styles, you could Edit->Preferences and change the settings to not remember missing fonts. Then open/save FM doc. (Make back up copy first, of course.) That should cleanse any missing fonts. In random cases, I have found text frames that someone moved "off the page" with extreme values (exceeding page width) via Graphics->Object properties. Hope that this helps.
