Re: [Framers] Text insets with mini-TOCs not updating

2017-06-07 Thread Tammy Van Boening
Also, I know that each shared file is set up to use the host file's
formatting/settings, but if the shared file has exactly the same paragraph
tags w/ numbering schemes as the container file (and not just inheriting
stuff), this usually solves a problem or two w/ TIs.

Art,

Is the numbering for each shared file set to "Continue" and the same for the
container file? When you are importing the shared file into the container
file, on the Import Text Flow by Reference dialog box, is Reformat Using
Current Document's Formats selected as well as Automatic for Updating of
Imported Flow?

OK, here's the setup, in '17:

   1. Some shared chapter files are in a \Shares directory parallel to the
   discrete book directories.
   2. Each shared chapter file has a mini-TOC showing its H1s.
   3. Each book has a container file for the shared chapter with unique
page furniture, chapter number/head, and intro paragraph.
   4. Each shared file is set up to use the host file's formatting/settings.

The problem is that when the book is updated, the mini-TOCs aren't updated
with the host book's page numbers, so the mini-TOC might say the topic is on
page 3 when it's really on 187. Mini-TOCs are supposed to be updated with a
book is refreshed.

Any thoughts? Bug?

Thanks,
Art

[Framers] ANN: "Live" FrameSLT Conversion

2017-06-07 Thread Rick Quatro
Hi Framers,

I recently had one of my "anti-webinars" showing FrameSLT, West Street
Consulting's excellent FrameMaker plugin. But I forgot to record the
webinar!

Yesterday, I got a request from a client to do a conversion of about 125
Word tables to structured FrameMaker. I used FrameSLT to help with the
conversion and I recorded the entire process. Now you can see a real-world
example of how useful and powerful FrameSLT is. This is a raw, unedited
video, except that I paused the recording during long operations. The video
is just under an hour long.

http://www.frameexpert.com/videos/FrameSLT_Conversion.html

Please let me know if you have any questions about FrameSLT or XPath. Thank
you very much.
