I have done so. Mostly in Lowell and Boston. Also in NJ and NY, but all at
client sites for groups. If that is an option let me know. If it's "one on
one" or something similar there are also online offerings that I (and others
on the list) can offer too.

Hi,
A quick question.
Is anyone in New England (+ NY and NJ I suppose) teaching structured (XML)
FrameMaker?
Cheers,
Sean

So call it a design flaw, it's still lame. It should be possible to
define relations between books in some persistent way.
Which is an example of a general problem with unstructured FM, that it
doesn't really have projects or templates.

It's not a bug. It is the only way that FrameMaker can figure out what the
parent book is for a particular external link. Remember that the link in the
FrameMaker file is to a filename.fm, but the link in the PDF has to be to
the bookname.pdf. When the link is to a file external to the book current
I'd falsely assumed they had fixed that bug long ago. I first
encountered it in FM6 if not 5.5.6.
To avoid that issue, once computers had enough memory to deal handle
it, I started putting the whole doc set in one PDF.

Hi All,
Thank you for the responses. Yes, from my extensive googling and pounding
through the forums, it does seem that FM 10 and 12 both run just fine on
Windows 10. And based on the statement that I pulled from HowToGeek, that
would make sense; however, as only FM2015 is explicitly called out as
FM 10 and 12 run on my Windows 10 system with no issues. Not sure about
Acrobat as I avoid it when I can other than to convert files to PDF or to
read them. That works fine, but I don't know about other functions in there.

Hi Tammy,
I've been using Frame 2012 and 2015 on Windows 10 (64-bit) and Acrobat
Pro for about 3 years with no issues that I remember as giving me
nightmares.
Best regards,
Ant

All,
I might be forced to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Ultimate. (The
reasons are not important.) I have FM 10, FM 12 and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI
currently installed. Here is a comment that I found on HowToGeek's website:

Hi Stephen,
Let's say you are producing a PDF from Book A. Book A has links to Book B.
Book B has to be open in FrameMaker when you make the PDF from Book A in
order for the links to Book B to work.
