We noticed this years ago, and our solution was to include two images in
the file, one for online viewing, and one for print.
We included a jpg (I think) for online FM viewing, and a PDF for print and
PDF production.
When the image embedded in the resulting pdf is zoomed, the resolution is

My memory is not as good as it was when I was in my 70s, but this sounds like a
problem I had once upon a time. As I remember, the cause was that some Adobe
programmer had his copy of FM set to low-resolution because, while he was
programming, there was no need for full-resolution images. But th

Do the tables have conditional rows in them? Did they originate from Word

For about a week or so, FrameMaker crashes when I'm working in a table (not the
same table; any table). When I relaunch, the same thing happens. I've saved to
MIF and opened that and that usually fixed the "corruption" (for lack of a
better term), at least for that table. Sometimes I need to res

Yeah...I'm going to try that next. I had a crash about an hour ago and lost an
hour of image embedding, so I have to start from scratch on 15 images.
Thanks

If you are embedding, try importing by reference.

A contributor created some flowcharts within Word. By the time I get them, the
squares and arrows are all over the place, so I asked them to give me a PDF of
each image.
All the PDFs appear with suitable resolution, and some, when imported retain
the resolution (viewed at 400%). Just some, ap
It's not quite binary. If the PDF you are importing was created with High
Quality Print or Press Quality settings then it should display nicely in
FrameMaker. If it was created with Smallest File Size or some other lesser
quality settings, then it may look bad in FrameMaker.

Maybe I missed this as I haven't been monitoring this thread that closely:
What is the source of your PDF (i.e. What program is being used to generate the
PDF)? It maybe be that your settings there are determining the preview quality
PDF upon import into FM.

Hi,
I don't actually know. I rarely import PDF into anything. I see PDF as a
destination format, so I would import the file from which the PDF is
created, be it EPS, png, or what have you.
I guess one use case might be to show a form or something. In that case I
would import the PDF because impor

Hi,
When I save a ditamap as a FrameMaker book with components, I get a TOC

So, if the output is fine I recommend letting it go.
Since FM format is not your deliverable, then it doesn't matter how FM
actually renders the image to your screen.
I wonder if somehow FM is using N EPS version of the image and displaying
the Tiff preview or some equivalent?
Cheers.

It prints fine. That's not the issue. I want it to view "fine".

How does that PDF output to print or to PDF from framemaker? Does it look
low res in the fm output?

Hi, guys...when I import PDFs into my FM 11 document, the image that I see is
often pixelated.
I think this is attributed to low rez for viewing, but I don't remember what
changes to make to show a normal resolution image.
Thanks
