Re: [Framers] Generated files and master page paragraph tags
Never mind. I found an old post by Arnis saying that information on the master pages is ignored by generated files. Phoeey. Re: [Framers] Generated files and master page paragraph tags
Hello Lin I believe you have to have the titles on the body pages. You may know this already, but to make an Index or ToC easily from an existing one, you can just copy the existing one into the same folder as the book file, then rename it the same as the book file itself. Thus if your book is myBook.book, the Index file is renamed to myBookIX.fm and the ToC is myBookTOC.fm. When you generate these files from the book, FM will pick up the renamed file with all its formatting and repopulate it with the relevant items. This saves creating one from scratch and formatting the different levels, etc. But note: * It only works if you use a generated file as the renamed source file. * The file name is case-sensitive and must match the book file exactly. * IX and TOC in the file name must be upper case. You probably knew that already! [Framers] Generated files and master page paragraph tags
I've created master pages for my TOC and Index that has the chapter/section name ("Contents" and "Index") pre-inserted on the master page. Unfortunately, FrameMaker doesn't pick up the paragraph tag for the Index to add it to the TOC, and when I create the PDF, neither is included in the bookmarks. Is there a way to do this, or am I going to have to remove them from the Master Page and just add them to the Body page the first time I create one of them? I could swear this sort of thing used to work, but it's been a while since I played with indexes. -- Lin Sims ___ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
