Re: [Framers] :TOC Issues in FM 11

2017-08-22 Thread Monique Semp
How can I make this file use the same Master Pages as other files in the
book?

You'll need to import the master pages from one of the other files. I don't
recall right off what happens if there are naming collisions (for the master
page names). And you probably don't want any old/extra ones lingering. So in
your ToC file you'll want to delete all the original master pages first and
then import the new ones.

It's been a while since I've worked in FrameMaker, but I seem to recall that
you cannot delete pages such as Left/Right. In that case, I'd select all the
elements form the desired Left/Right pages and then replace the ToC's
Left/Right page contents with the desired contents.

(Sorry for the vague instructions. As I said, I'm not working in FrameMaker
at the moment, and don't even have it on my current system.)

HTH,
-Monique

Thanks, Fred and Tino for the help. I found that my TOC file has a different
set of Master Pages. How can I make this file use the same Master Pages as
other files in the book?

Hi group

I've got 2 SVG images which have the following size in Inkscape:

Image 1, the "large image:
width: 448 mm
height: 316 mm

Image 2, the same large image which I scaled in Insckape to the following
size:
width: 166
height: 153

When I put this image in a DITA topic and generate a FrameMaker file from my
ditamap (using DITA-FMx), I see that the size of the images becomes as
follows:

Image 1 (large size):
width: 280 mm
height: 198 mm
dpi: 72
*scaling: 50%*

Image 2:
width: 207.496 mm
height: 191.763 mm
dpi: 72
scaling: 100%

In DITA, I haven't used any scaling attributes (@scale, @scalefit,
@outputclass...).

When I *import *these graphics into a new FrameMaker file, the size is as
follows

Image 1 (large size):
width: 560.0mm
height: 396,001 mm
dpi: 72
*scaling: 100%*

Image 2:
width: 207,496 mm
height: 191,763 mm
dpi: 72
scaling: 100%

When I import the graphics at 90 dpi, they have approximately the same size as
their original size in Inkscape.

Does anyone have any idea why the large image is scaled 50% in the FrameMaker
file generated from the DITA topic?

Also, I see that, DIP is greyed out in the Object Properties dialog, so there
seems to be no way to change the DPI setting afterwards (using a script, for
example)?

I'm using FrameMaker 2017 with DITA-FMx 2.0.

Thanks

Yves

Hi, Framers.

When I add a TOC page to a book and try to add a Heading1 paragraph style at
the top, there is almost 2 inches of space between the Heading1 paragraph and
the first Heading1TOC entry. The Heading1 is also missing the underline that
other Heading1 styles have.

How can I fix the spacing problem?

For the space between heading and TOC start, check the master page design. The
heading and TOC are most likely in separate frames, and their relative
positions may need to be adjusted.

For the rule beneath the heading, check the paragraphs style definition to make
sure it has a "graphic frame below paragraph" defined. And check the reference
pages to make sure that the correspondingly named graphic frame actually exists.

2017-08-22 Thread Tino H. Haida
Hi Ed,

Is there a frame inserted below the paragraph (Advanced settings)?

Typically this frame should contain a line as object to produce an
underline in the layout.
(The frame is defined on the Reference pages.)
If this successfully applies to all chapters, the definition on the TOC
page should be checked. You may keep (and resize) or delete the frame
resp. change the paragraph setting.

If this is not the scenario in your case, I do not know...
