FM 8 no longer generating PDFs with bookmarks for the Acrobat Bookmarks pane

Ok, will do. In fact that's what I started doing once 'Save as PDF' stopped
working.
'Save as PDF' used to work just fine. What happened...?

Richard is correct in that Adobe changed the name of the printer 
instance, and you should always be using that as your default printer 
for FrameMaker. That might make Save As PDF function as you wish.

However, it is not the Distiller application. That application is the 
sure way of making all the functions behave correctly.

WRONG! Regardless of the merits and foibles of the "save as PDF" facility in
various versions of FrameMaker, all in fact explicitly use the Distiller.
How do think the PostScript is turned into PDF otherwise? FrameMaker
(exceptionally unfortunately) unlike InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
does NOT have the ability to directly export PDF using the Adobe PDF Library.

Hi all,
Something seems to have gone wrong with my FM 8 installation.

FM 8 is no longer generating PDFs with bookmarks for the Acrobat (v9)
Bookmarks pane.

I recall the problem started when I was using FM 7.2 on a different PC, but
had to uninstall Acrobat v9 due to a licensing issue, and then instead
installed Acrobat 5, which I own. The problems then started on that PC. And
when I copied the book to the current PC (with FM 8 + Acrobat 9) then the
whole installation stopped creating bookmarks, whichever book I was using.

Hi Avi,

Did you make sure that you selected "Generate Acrobat Data"
in the Print dialog?

I do not know how you create your PDF files. As a test
print to a PS file (with Adobe PDF as printer and "Generate
Acrobat Data" selected) and then distill the PS file to a
PDF file.
