FM9 Buggy UI Behavior (Joseph)
Hi John and Shlomo, Its good to know its not all in my head! :) Unfortunately, I am bummed out because this probably means its a bug with FrameMaker 9. This GUI issue is NOT intermittent for me. It happens every single time I maximize a window, change a workspace, or hover over buttons. I can easily replicate it or record it with a captivate video. However, I was told by adobe technical support that their policy is that they do NOT assist someone with a trial version of TCS 2.0, only someone with a purchased copy. I understand the need for such a policy but it seems self-defeating since I would probably purchase the software if I knew this issue is fixable or would be addressed in the future. Right now it seems like Adobe is completely oblivious to it. Sincerely, Joe

Dear Joseph, et al: Yes, I have been observing the dancing menus problem for a month or two. I hadn't noticed the other problems, but they could well be. I've got ATCS 2.0 loaded (and am writing a review of it). I'd tried to describe this problem to RJ Jacques, but he said he hadn't run into this before and didn't know what it was just from the description, so I was unable to get additional information (as of around the beginning of March). I was trying to shoot a Captivate movie to show this, but got sidetracked by work. Sounds like I'm not the only one, though. My system is a pretty vanilla box: ASUS motherboard with an onboard Nvidia GeForce FX 5200, with a ViewSonic 21" LCD monitor. I'm running at 1400 x 1050 x 32-bit color. The dancing menus are easy to see and trigger: loading a new FM file does it for me. Don't know if it's something other people have shown the folks at Adobe yet, but at least there's more than one of us. Hi Syed, I did try switching to the single screen mode on the external monitor. It had no affect. Also, I've noticed that the GUI distortions only occur when I maximize the FM window and/or change the workspace while the FM window is maximized. FM9 Buggy UI Behavior
Hi Art, When you mentioned the video card, an idea occurred to me. I am using a Dell lap top, which is hooked up to a dell flat screen monitor. The monitor's highest resolution is 1680 by 1050 pixels, the lap top's highest resolution is 1440 by 900 pixels. When I placed the FM 9 window in the lap top, no issues occurred with the GUI, while on the monitor issues did occur. Then, I reduced my monitor's resolution from 1680 by 1050 to 1440 by 900 (the same res as my monitor). Once I did that, the distortions to the FM 9 GUI stopped occurring. Apparently, my monitor's res had to match my lap top's res, otherwise FM 9's ability to display the GUI is interfered with. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Re: FM9 Buggy UI Behavior
