Using the TouchUp Text tool in Acrobat requires the fonts be local (on the
computer) regardless of whether the fonts were embedded in the PDF or not.

One could select the text in question with the TouchUp Text tool,
right-click on the text, and choose the Properties menu. You will see what
font was used and you can change it to something similar if necessary.
(Obviously, not the best thing to do, but when one is desperate...)

And beyond that, it means that they didn't embed fonts, so reproducing
it accurately may be a little dicey unless it's printed from a system
that has all the required fonts.

It means you don't have that font installed on your computer. Just the same
as in Frame, you need to have the font installed on your computer in order
to be able to use it.

PDF TouchUp Error

2007-06-08 Thread Jennifer Randel
Hi all,
I'm in possession of a PDF (created by someone else) that needs to be
edited. When I try to touch up the text, I get the following error
message:

"All or part of the selection has no available system font. You cannot
add or delete text using the currently selected font."

Is this truly a font issue or could it be a permission issue? What does
"no available system font" mean?

Thanks,
