RE: Problem with MML Import SOLVED

2014-05-29 Thread Karen Robbins
Hi Framers,

A little fussing with the MML file itself was the answer. The MML file is
like a combination script and style sheet that converts the plain-text data
into my paragraph tag styles.

I had to enter new paragraph tag names in the MML file, making sure they
matched the paragraph tags in the template document. Yes, they should have
been the same as always, but something got messed up. It's all better now.

Thanks for all your ideas and help.

Best,
Karen

Problem with MML Import

2014-05-28 Thread Karen Robbins

Hi Framers,

I have a download (.txt file) that I regularly import into an FM
(11.0.2.384) template file using an MML script. (By template I mean a
regular .fm file that I keep to reuse for this purpose.) The text
imports as an inset with all the correct paragraph tags and styles
applied; I convert the inset to live text so I can edit and proceed
from there. My process hasn't changed in years. I've had FM11 for a
couple of years now, so that hasn't changed either (updates may have
been applied).

With today's import, the text appears in FM's default Times New Roman
12 pt font instead of the specified paragraph tags' HelveticaNeueLT
Std 9 pt.

I can correct this with various tools, but it's a darn waste of time
when I'm on deadline! Why would the font change to the default in the
first place? It never did before.

Thanks,
Karen

All fonts are resident on my computer. Just checked to be sure. :-)

Hmm... I usually work at one office but sometimes work at another
(with different printers). I've performed this task from both
locations but no apparent difference in behavior until now. BTW, I
also work in a Parallels virtual Windows 7 environment.

Are the fonts resident on the printer? Are you using the correct printer
driver?

Re: Problem with MML Import

2014-05-28 Thread Karen Robbins

Setting the printer to Adobe PDF made no difference.

In a related document that imports different downloaded data but uses
the same MML to handle it (and the same set of paragraph tags), one
paragraph tag was misinterpreted but the others are correct.
