Yes, Craig, you are right,

C:\Users\klaus\AppData\LocalLow\Adobe\Linguistics\UserDictionaries\FMUserDictionary\a
ll\added.txt
collects learned words from all languages and all FM versions (12 upwards) i
have
installed. Although there are subdirectories for all languages FM supports,
they stay
empty, since all learned words are collected in 'language' all.
These files however are not used for the thesaurus, but for hyphenation and
spell
checking.
C:\Users\klaus\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Linguistics\... obviously contain
dictionaries of
older (<=11) FM versions. Therein I find only the languages all, brt, eng, grm
and
sgr.
Thesauri are only found in the linguistic dictionaries of the FM-installation,
for
example:
...\AdobeFrameMaker2015\fminit\Linguistics\7.0\Providers\Proximity\11.00\brt55.ths
 or
...\Adobe FrameMaker
2019\fminit\Linguistics\7.0\Providers\Proximity\11.00\brt55.ths
Which btw have the exactly same length, just another date...

So the question remains: why can FM-15 not find the thesaurus for English? (and
some
other languages).

Maybe uninstall FrameMaker, delete any remaining x86 files, and
reinstall the 64-bit version.

Re: [Framers] No thesaurus found in FM-15

2020-05-04 Thread Klaus Daube
I installed FM-15.0.5.838 on the Wind10 machine of my wife - which is a plain
vanilla
installation - and the problem I have on my machine does not occur! Hence FM is
definitely not the cause of the problem.
Although both machines have exactly the same Win10-status (OSbuild
10.0.18363.778)
there is one noticable difference:

My machine has these directories:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Linguistics and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Linguistics and
%AppData%\Adobe\Linguistics

Inge's machine: no such directories (after installen FM-15)

I really don't understand why these directories exist - the very same content
can be
found in each of my FM installations starting with FM-12:
$HOME\FMxx\fminit\Linguistics

-> Renaming these Linguistics on C: to !_Linguistics did not make any
difference for
the problem.

So a more elaborate search for the culprit on my system starts ...

Any ideas are welcome!
