Hi All, I'm the Technical Recruiter with IntraLase Corp. located in Irvine, CA. We are known for our niche Femtosecond Technology. The IntraLase ultrafast femtosecond laser is the first bladeless <http://www.intralase.com/corporate/aboutus/index.html##> laser technology for performing Step One of LASIK and the most accurate technology for corneal flap creation available today. The laser focuses an infrared beam of light to precisely separate tissue through a process called photodisruption. In this process, the focused laser pulses divide material at the molecular level without the transfer of heat or impact to the surrounding tissue. Technical Writer Product Development Job Summary Create technical written documentation in support of company's medical device product lines. These documents will be used by our domestic and international customers, field service, technical support, customer support and clinical applications personnel. These documents will include Operator, Service and Training Manuals, Directions for Use and Labels. Communicate with other writers, engineers, scientists, product managers, etc. to develop and understand technical content. Assist in document format and layout. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (fundamental job duties): Technical Writer: 1. Work closely with the appropriate engineering, marketing, regulatory affairs, field service, technical support and clinical applications personnel to develop Service Manuals, Training Materials, Directions for Use and labeling. 2. Ensure compliance with all domestic and foreign regulatory standards and requirements, as well as all internal guidelines regarding format, style and content. 3. Create photographs, diagrams graphics as required to support documentation. 4. Develop and manage the in-house documentation printing process. 5. Coordinate the use of outside vendors to translate, certify and deliver all new releases and changes to labeling and manuals. 6. May be called upon to assist with the documentation of functional requirements or other design inputs on development projects. Requirements: Education and Experience: Must either have a college degree in English, Technical Communication or equivalent work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to understand and explain technical details. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and a team player. 5 years experience in technical writing, technical references materials and training materials. Medical device experience required and basic understanding of FDA QSR and ISO regulations Portfolio of technical documentation a must. Computer Skills: Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Word including the extensive use of styles, languages and formats in Word. Extensive experience with graphics programs i.e., Visio, Corel, Adobe Acrobat Writer or similar applications.
