Frameworkers:
I'm looking for research suggestions of artists, filmmakers, and works that
utilize Max MSP/Jitter as their main software tool. I am specifically
interested in FILM and analog video makers and works (experimental,
abstract, avant-garde) that have used Max to explore or investigate

A lot of work that I've seen in Max MSP/Jitter that attempts to mimic analog
processes are making use of Vade's v002 GLSL shaders, which he offers as free
Quartz Composer plugins here:

Nice.
Lynn-Marie Kirby, too, has a fair amount of prior work in MAX-Jitter.
Couple thoughts more:
Anton Marini wrote some shaders and other processes for MAX to resemble
film temperature profiles (technicolor-1, 2, 3, bleach bypass, etc).
( I see David Han has now also mentioned Anton
Greetings Frameworkers,

Abigail Child mentioned that the structure of “Surface Noise” is based on the
Fibonacci sequence when she screened it at the Harn Museum a decade ago. I’m
not sure I understood exactly what she meant—I hadn’t sensed it in watching the
film—but I’d be curious to look again with that in mind.
Dan Sandin’s Spiral Series 1-5 are Fibonacci algorithms driving a
vector-graphics display. Not film, but lovely. Spiral 5 is especially striking.
I think the Data Bank has them.

Roberta Friedman and Grahame Weinbren's excellent FUTURE PERFECT from 1978 uses
a Fibonacci series (among others) as a basis for some precisely placed
graphical forms marked onto (and conceptually relating to) the film's
underlying photography.

Some of you may have already seen this, as it came across The Temenos'
mailing list a few days ago, but I thought I'd forward it along for those
who weren't aware.
