[Frameworks] LOW Just Make It Stop - Chromoflex UltraPan8 - unofficial

2014-01-22 Thread Nicholas Kovats
Here is my unofficial short film of one of my favorite bands, Low. The
song is called Just Make It Stop from their 2013 album The
Invisible Way. Filmed in Chromoflex UltraPan8 2.8.

No digital effects were used.

I shot specially perforated Kodak V3 200D color negative (UltraPan8
2.8 R8) pushed one stop (400 ASA). An internegative 16mm print (50D)
was struck but not processed. The single perf 16mm print was then
hand processed using Richard Touey's Chromoflex technique. I applied
random tape shapes and then immersed the 16mm film in three different
combinations of developers, fixes, baths, etc specific to color
negative, color reversal or b/w reversal film processing.

Wow Nicholas this is great. It reminds me a bit of Stan Brakhage which is so
awesome! Love the film strips and how you used the 16mm.

2014-01-22 Thread Kelly Gallagher
Dear Frameworkers,
Does anyone know of any docs or experimental films about John Brown and/or
Harpers Ferry? I may be curating a program of short films in the town or
field where John Brown did some of his Harpers Ferry training out here in
Iowa. Please message me off list if possible: ke...@purpleriot.com
Thanks so much!

[Frameworks] brooklyn microcinema seeks submissions

2014-01-22 Thread Katya Yakubov
Hello,

The Picture Show will be a weekly microcinema in Greenpoint, Brooklyn screening
experimental film, video art, and narratives/docs that use experimental
elements.

For our first shorts night at the end of February, we are seeking short films
that would fit under a theme of “Street Videography” - films that use
documentary street footage as a starting point to their work. Think John Smith
“Girl Chewing Gum,” but don’t let that limit you. Please send links to
apictures...@gmail.com and visit us at thepictureshow.org

Many thanks!

[Frameworks] looking for darkroom/ film resources in bay area CA

2014-01-22 Thread Jason Wade

Hey everyone!
I am gonna be around California (Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco) for the
next couple months. Does anyone have any tips on where to get chemistry or any
other supplies around here? I need some darkroom access. Really what I need
is to find some FILM nerds like me out here that are interested in film
processing and process or have processed their own film that will really know
what I am talking about. Are there any labs here?

I contacted people from Canyon Cinema and Other Cinema, but so far I have not
really been able to find hand processing/ film resources. Any advice is most
appreciated. Other artists that hand process in this area that I can check
out?

thanks,
Jason Wade
