Ed Halter and Andrea Grover put together a collection called A Microcinema
Primer a while ago that was published in a very limited run. Not sure if there
are plans for that to get an electronic afterlife, but it’s got lots of
interesting stuff in it.

There’s a fair amount of focus on microcinemas in Incite journal issue #4:

Looking for info on Ed & Andrea’s book, I found this relatively recent article

Scenes which depict the seed of mysterious magnetism between two people.

I realize scenes of this nature pop up in maybe every other movie you

[Frameworks] University/Academia and Religion

2019-05-14 Thread Shuhita Bhattacharjee
Dear Frameworkers,

I want to draw on your collective wisdom for my monograph. I am looking for
examples across world cinema and television that represent the academic
space, in particular the university classroom/campus in its overlap with
spirituality/religion. Most useful would be a scene with classroom
discussions on spirituality or faith, but really anything in this zone
would work great. Any suggestions at all would be wonderful!

Many thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

[Frameworks] examples of "first encounters"

2019-05-14 Thread jimmyschaus1
Trusted Frameworkers,

I am seeking examples of great "first encounters" between characters. Two
people seemingly pushed together by the universe sort of thing, perhaps
generated by an accident, a coincidence, a glance, a moment of especially
outgoing behavior...

The golden torch-bearer I have in mind is the beginning of Rivette's *Celine
and Julie Go Boating*, where a dropped pair of sunglasses leads to a wild
chase through the streets and an ensuing magical partnership.

Scenes which depict the seed of mysterious magnetism between two people.

I realize scenes of this nature pop up in maybe every other movie you see,
so just if anything really sticks out to you as a particularly novel or
noteworthy example, that does something exciting formally...

cheers
