Re: [Frameworks] projector lubracant oil suggestions
The Diplomat is that home movie projector I believe the main deal with that is to fill the oil cup with light (ISO 32) oil every time you use the projector. The zoom spout oil will be fine with that. I don't know about any other oil points, but that oil cup goes directly into a felt pad that oils the cam... if that pad goes dry the cam will not last long. I don't know anything about the Super-8 projectors. Service manual for the SL-0 should be somewhere on http://www.film-tech.com under warehouse and manuals. I have always avoided those slotload machines as well, but those projectors will probably have a dozen or so different oil points on them and possibly grease points as well; the service manual will tell you for sure. --scott ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

Re: [Frameworks] women and crime
- Ms. 45 (the main character begins as a victim, but that very quickly changes into a beautiful bloodbath). These are particularly mainstream TV shows, but I didn't see them mentioned yet: - Law Order: SVU (featuring a main female detective who avoids sexual pigeonholing). - Castle (featuring a main, unfortunately sexualized, female detective and a tough-as-nails female captain in later seasons). - The BBC's Miss Marple (amateur, elderly spinster detective). Happy hunting! -k ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

Sewing machine oil works great! Sewing machine oil can be a whole lot of different things! Some of it is as light as ISO 16, some of it is cheap oil that goes gummy, some of it is just perfect for the application. But most of it is awfully light. --scott ___ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks

[Frameworks] Call for art--experimental music night
Hey frameworks, I'm co-curating a show on Friday, 1/31 in Brooklyn with some experimental musicians. As part of this event, I'm also curating a 30 minute long film / video set in between the musical acts. I'm looking for some short (under ten minutes) work that is either about music, or musical in nature. Let me know if you're interested. Links to vimeo, youtube, etc previews is strongly preferred over descriptions / pictures of the work, but I will consider everything. Thanks!
