[Frameworks] SCOOPIC 16 battery recalling (Spain/Europe)

2016-01-19 Thread Mark Ostrowski

Dear colleagues,

Does anyone know places to get battery packs for a Canon Scoopic 16 recalled in
Europe? Also, if someone out there has the battery box accessory, I would be
interested.

Thanks,

Hi Jason the chemical concentrates have been opened and about a quarter
used I think...

I can run some tests but the film stock is also out of date so it's not
going to be straightforward!

[Frameworks] out of date e6 chemicals

2016-01-19 Thread Mary Stark
I have a set of Tetenol E6 chemical concentrate which went out of date 10
months ago.

The instructions say they go out of date after 6 months but I’m just
wondering if anyone has ever tried using out of date E6 chemicals with any
results?

I’m also buying new chemicals but wondering about the other set before I
take it to the safe waste disposal.

Very best,

Mary

Instructions say a lot ;-) if it's the concentrate it lasts at least 1 year and
I agree to the other posts: you can have wonderful solarizations if the colour
developer dies!
If you have very old film stock, lower the temperature to 30°.

Karen is definitley right. They may not be perfect*, but the unexpected
errors can be very nice and very usable.

Are you talking about a properly stored, unopened concentrate? Most likely,
it will be just fine, with minimal shift from normal. If it was opened and
has air in the container, it will be partially oxidized and weakened.

Shops that sell and service radio controlled cars/planes/boats
will usually recell battery packs as well.

The original replacement is either
Varta 5/V350H or 5/CP300H
Not sure because of overall length.
Of course you'll need two.
Google these numbers on the Varta site. Should be able to find it, maybe thru
Conrad.

Re: [Frameworks] SCOOPIC 16 battery recalling (Spain/Europe)

2016-01-19 Thread Dave Tetzlaff
Making DIY Scoopic battery packs is pretty easy. I made a .pdf:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/pdfzutv84jcj370/scooby.pdf?dl=0

Original Scoopic packs used NiCad cells, which less run time than the newer
NiMH cells, and also have 'the memory effect' which NiMH doesn't. Even if you
revel an original pack, you should get NiMH. The thing is, the electronics for
charging are slightly different, and the original Scoopic charger may not work
so hot with NiMH cells. It's easy though to get a new charger. Scoopic cells
are 12v. (I'm assuming here you're talking about the later black body Scoopics,
not the old original gray body. Those have different size and voltage
batteries.)

Hi,

I have extensive experience on the J.K. optical printer and contact printing.
I will have access to an Oxberry printer in April and would like to use it for
mulitple pass matte printing other optical effects but have never used one
before. If anyone knows of a good link to some literature or how to guides
or has some advice; it is much appreciated. I have a few months left to teach

Ask your local police department's radio shop who recells their walkie-talkie
batteries and send them there. The job is very easy but requires a spotwelder
to connect the cells, but any battery shop should be able to do it it.
