Yes, I'd try MPE as I said before Mac said they had tons of black leader.

Re: [Frameworks] Duplikin

2016-03-09 Thread todd eacrett

Els,

I have a c-mount duplikin for 16mm, and another for 35mm, but that
might be Nikon or t-mount (easily adapted). I will try to find them and
let you know. Haven't used them in years and don't expect to any time
soon. Duplikins use a c-mount lens reversed for macro, and the stock
lens was nothing special, Ektar maybe? Works fine stopped down, but
you can easily swap a better lens.

Cheers,

That's cool, I did not know that MPE is Kodak. How interesting! I did buy 1000'
of black leader I believe in December 2015 and Mac said they had a whole bunch
of it still. I made a big deal about how I was searching all around for it, and
he seemed surprised by my near panic state.

No, no, the MPE _material_ is from Kodak. (Well, it's from FPE which is
owned by Kodak).

Although for all I know they might have a new source.

That's news to me. Perhaps MPE has been sold, though I don't think so.
I used to buy supplies, including leader, and rent flat beds from MPE,
in NYC, back in the 1980s and 90s. MPE contact at the time was "Neil."
Kodak had its own outlet in NYC; most recently at 360 W. 21st Street
(212.631.3400).

Didn't anyone mention MPE? They have a huge payload of 16mm black leader.
My negative cutter Noëlle Penraat approves. You just have to get through to
them. This is their number: 212-245-0969. Ask for Mac.

Did anyone mention Redmond Entwistle's work? His *Social Visions* has an
animated 360 degree shot and one of his more recent films too, I think *Belfast
Trio.*
