Hi Albert!

Some of the films I was thinking about, have already been mentioned by other
people, but you have of course the very great "black" films by Stan Brakhage
which Nicky Hamlyn writes about in "Stan Brakhage: Realm Buster" (John Libbey
publishing, 2018).

You can also try to check out this two films (it is almost black leaders during
the whole films):
Gregory Markopoulos - Gammelion (1968)
João César Monteiro - Branca de Neve (Snow White)

Btw, Anouk de Clercq's film Black is on 35mm, not 16mm.

Good luck

Daniel

Hello John,

Thank you very much for your suggestion. The other day I watched The Black
Tower for second time and i felt it is exactly the sort if film i was looking
for.

That's for sure you don't remember but we met some years ago in Italy at the
Lucca Film festival and later we exchanged some words at the Punto de Vista in
Pamplona, the year you came with Dad's Stick.

I'm explaining this just to ask you if you have a transcription of the voices
over of the The Black Tower. The idea is to include some seconds for a video
essay for the Soy Cámara program of the B.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJeHI7FwAuM=2s

If you don't have it i will try to translate some seconds in order to use it to
explain different ideas about darkness and cinema.

All the best,
Albert

Hi Albert,

I have a film that I made without removing the lens cover of the camera. Maybe
you have already see it, it’s on my Vimeo account: https://vimeo.com/157752374

I don’t know if you’re also interested in mainstream films, but the first one
that comes to my mind is 30 Days of Night. There’s also a dystopian film called
Perfect Sense in which people lose their senses and I think that at some point
(I don’t remember the film very well) they lose their sight and the screen goes
black.

Cheers,
Blanca
