flow controlled http

2000-09-07 Thread shren

someone responded to my professional help question by asking how I did
this - get a web page at a specific byte rate, such as 1k a second. I
lost the source email so I don't know exactly who sent this to me, but I
did want to answer the question.

See RFC 2068, section 3.12. Use of this functionality seems like it
will offer the best solution to this problem. You could request a web
page in the size ranges you want.

Or, if you don't want to do it yourself, you could wait for me to do it
and buy it from us - I gather part of our buisness model will involve the
resale of COM objects. Send me an email if you are interested in this
option, and I'll put you in touch with the guy who you can work that out
with.

Everyone else - sorry to use the list to find someone whose email I
lost, and thanks again for the great player. One question
though. Freeamp doesn't seem to play wav files. Is this on the
agenda? I could probably code it myself, if not.

Its been on my agenda for weeks. But, I keep finding that I've got so
many other things to deal with. If you'd like to do it, I'd be more than
glad to accept that patch!

Only two issues. First, I only know how to do it (now) for
Windows. Second, FreeAmp has so many different projects I am sometimes a
bit dizzy on where to start changing. But, I will add it to the list of
things to do in my copious free time. *chuckle*
