doing this over a 10mbs half duplex network will give lots of collisions
(a half duplex network uses one set of wires to communicate both ways -
hence you get collisions as both machines try to talk at the same time.
Also the smb protocal isn't very efficient so a long time like this

I have tried to find solution to my problem for a while but have only found
solutions to why is Samba on Freebsd between Win2k too slow. Mine wokrs
fine between win2k and BSD box.
I have freebsd 4.10 and 10MB network. With pentium 300mhz and 128MB memory
running samba-3.0.5 i´m not
shouldn't be asking about it here. There are many Windows
forums.

My server is: FreeBSD 4.9 stable and is acting as a file and (hopefully)
print server for 6 local Windows 2000 workstations.
Samba 2.28 is installed and serving file shares properly. Now for
printer sharing...
The printer is an HP 4M laserjet, and I installed apsfilter (via ports)

I just got a samba server running on a FreeBSD box. Whenever trying to
change the perm bits on a file from Win2k (Read-Only, Hidden, Archive), then
click on the desktop, Explorer.exe crashes. Does anyone know why?
